The creation of any portrait is a unique experience - for both the artist and her subject. First,
Jane Scobey will meet with you to discuss your hopes and expectations for your portrait, along with
size, setting, and clothing.
In order to capture her subject's personality, Jane feels it is especially important to see her subjects
in a relaxed atmosphere among possessions that are meaningful to them. She takes many photos to ensure
a variety of poses and expressions, and reviews the proofs with you for your input and preferences.
Once the portrait artist feels comfortable with the information collected, she returns to her studio
to produce a small, color sketch in oil with the proposed composition. This way, you'll have a visual
depiction of the finished portrait in advance. Upon your approval, Jane begins your work of art.
Working from a combination of photographs and face to face sittings, Jane is able to capture her subject's
unique characteristics and personality. You will enjoy seeing the portrait during various phases of
its progression.
Jane will ensure that you are delighted with the final result before delivering your work of art.
