Donna knew she was an artist at a very early age. After acquiring a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, she worked in advertising as an illustrator for many years, drawing and painting various subject matter using many different mediums. It was during this time that she decided watercolor was her favorite medium to work in. She has experimented with many different watercolor techniques and enjoys the beautiful luminosity that is created when working with transparent watercolors. As a portrait painter, she likes the versatility that watercolor gives her to paint controlled realistic details in the face of the subject and to take advantage of the mediums flowing quality in other areas of the painting.
In 1992 Donna received the award of Best in Show from Essex Watercolor Club for a portrait and has been doing commissioned watercolor portraits ever since. She has portraits hanging in many homes on the east coast and also enjoys painting florals and landscapes in watercolor.
