I
believe that a successful portrait should not only achieve an excellent
likeness of the subject, but should also stand alone as a fine piece
of art. I eagerly anticipate working with each new client to create
what will ultimately become a family heirloom.
At our initial meeting or by phone, we will discuss such matters as
the medium, size, type of clothing, and background. We will then schedule
the photo session, which will last one to two hours, during which
a series of up to several hundred photographs are taken. I also use
this time with my subject to familiarize myself with his or her unique
mannerisms and gestures. In some cases, I may do quick sketches. A
deposit of 50% will be due at this time if it has not been previously
paid. We will also sign a commission agreement.
The portrait will be completed within twelve months. The balance is
due upon completion of the commission and acceptance by the client.
